We just returned from the rain forest home you suggested and had an amazing time. Probably the best thing we have done in our time in St. Lucia. Mango was a great guide and he took us to his farm after the hike and it was beautiful and we really enjoyed getting to see it. If future guests enjoy hiking I would certainly recommend to them. And guests that come from the countryside like my wife and I would probably also enjoy the farm aspect and fresh food. Very good time and I thank you for recommending it. I have some very good pictures from the trip. JB So this trip for me was going to be a very different one compared to the previous 8 times I’ve come to St. Lucia. Previously always stayed at a resort. I decided to live less as a tourist and more as a local. Still not really a local, given this beautiful Villa I was staying in. Clean, well equipped and spacious, it was a lovely home for almost 2 weeks. Having been on the island many times, I have made some friends here and my time was spent with them for the most part. Worked out in the gym several times a week. Participated in the fit walk on May 1st- close to 10 miles, which felt mostly uphill. Im sure I was one of the few tourist there, so that was fun to be part of. Spent one morning walking through the forest with a gentleman who knows the healing properties of many local plants. I am studying holistic nutrition so found this particularly interesting. Though I didn’t initialize a lot of service offered by Janus and his team, they were responsive, prompt and extremely friendly. I do hope to return to Soufriere and would definitely recommend Sargas though I will not miss walking up the hill any time soon :P M.K. Edmonton, AB Canada Sargas Villa is hands down the best Airbnb we have ever stayed at. The views are just breathtaking and the host Janus is fabulous! He was able to quickly answer any questions we had and got us cheap rides all over the island. Food
Sugar beach is right in between the pitons. Blaze, a local, sells fresh fruit, drinks, + food much cheaper than the resort. Water taxi is the best way to get here. Anse Chastanet + Anse Mamin are beautiful beaches and much more secluded. You can taxi there for cheap. Soufriere Tour is a must! Tet Paul Nature Trial has the best Pitons Views and Sulphur Springs is an experience you will not find elsewhere. We do wish we had hiked the Gros Piton and plan on our next visit. Drink plenty of Piton Beer! This was the perfect anniversary trip for my husband and I. Also, if a cat wanders up to the door, we named him “Karl”. Allison & Darin Only a short stay at Sapphire but a lovely place and exceptional view! Had a great time climbing Petit Piton on the morning of our first day. We went with Jahrod Alcindor of Eco Adventures – Highly recommended as a guide.
Petit Piton is not a difficult climb but the slippery rocks and very muddy route do make it hazardous, in places there is a lot of exposure to long drops- so if you are nervous with heights – maybe reconsider this activity. We got to the top in 1hr 30 mins and back down in a similar time. The key is to leave early (6:30am is good) – that way you will avoid all groups, most of which you will encounter on decent. Note that although not technically difficult, this should be considered fairly serious outing where good upper body strength is essential ( you will be using your arms to pull yourself up almost 60% of the climb. The summit is well worth it and so is the view! Food: Bell View Restaurant was good, was not that impressed with the food at Petit Peak. Good cocktails at skippers Bar. Friendly beach @ Anse (About a 10 min drive away at Jade Mountain Resort). Adam & Gemma – New Forest, Hampshire, England. Thanks for a great stay Janus. Nice to meet you and best of luck with your projects! Hope to see you again in the future.
“Location, views, hospitality, communication, plunge pool and tech amenities (wifi, smart TV with Netflix) - these were all outstanding. This was our first time at an airbnb vs an all-inclusive resort and I feel like the experience was so excellent we are now spoiled and will have much too high expectations if we stay anywhere else! I booked our stay for Serrana in January (8 months in advance) because I could see that it was already mostly booked for the year, and because the pictures of the place were absolutely stunning, not to mention the numerous 5-star reviews on multiple social media platforms. Your Villa speaks for itself, and with such a high occupancy rate, I'm sure you already know that travelers are lined up to stay there because of the vacation experience only you can offer them. This was a dream come true for our 10th wedding anniversary celebration and we are forever grateful to you for making that dream come true!” Jolene “Janus, We had an amazing stay at your property. Thank you for opening your doors for us. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the town and hiking Gros Piton. You and your staff are very friendly and kind. We were impressed by the quickness in which you responded to our messages and requests.
Your travel arrangements made the stay convenient and provided a nice peace of mind, getting to the condo from the airport. We cannot thank you enough. The condo was clean and organized upon our arrival. It featured everything we needed for our stay (shampoo, body wash, kitchen utensils, iron and board, washing machine). We will be sure to recommend your property to our friends back in the States! Janus, once again, thank you! All the best, Jeremy” |
